Duration: 14 hrs
Class times: 10am - 6pm
Course tutor: Aki Choklat

The Course Details:

Would you like to start your own footwear label? Based on an extremely popular seminar series which has been running in London for several years, this course is designed to give you a brief but intensive overview of the footwear design industry. Only available in the USA, this course is truely a unique opportunity to learn from the industry's leading minds.  We are running this both in Berkely, San Francisco and New York City, so all of you in the USA can take advantage of this unique opportunity.

Led by international shoe designer by Aki Choklat, the first day will be spent exploring creative design techniques, developing ideas from your inspiration, drawing and expanding a collection from those ideas in a highly experimental format.

The second day will feature a seminar on what it takes to start a label. The full design cycle will be explored, from design idea to the point when a shoe goes into the shop for sale. It will help you answer questions such as: 'How do I find a factory?', 'How many pieces should be in my first collection?' and 'When and where should I sell my collection?'
